Transfers from Sharm El Sheikh: all routes in one place
This page lists every transfer route we cover from Sharm El Sheikh, each with its road distance, drive time and a live "from" price per vehicle. Short runs link the airport with Naama Bay, Nabq Bay, Sharks Bay, Hadaba and the Old Market, and there is a page for trips within Sharm itself. Longer routes go to Dahab, Nuweiba, Taba, Saint Catherine, Cairo, Cairo airport and Hurghada, and each has a page for the way back. You choose a car with a driver, send a free request and pay nothing online. The text below explains how to pick a route and a pickup point, how pricing works, what a long road trip involves and when a bus or a self-drive car is the better idea.

How to choose the right route and pickup point
Start from where you sleep and where you need to be, not from the name of a resort. The airport is the usual starting point: Nabq Bay and Sharks Bay are the closest hotel areas to it, Naama Bay is a little further, and Hadaba and the Old Market are on the far side of town. If you are already in Sharm and want a ride between two areas, the within-Sharm page covers that.
For day trips and onward journeys, the long-distance rows in the table are one-way: choose the page whose name starts with the place you leave. Each route page has a table of drop-off points, so you can see how far your exact area is. When in doubt, write the full name of your hotel in the request; the driver goes to that address rather than to a general district.
How per-vehicle pricing and the free request work
Every price you see here is for one whole vehicle with its driver, not per person, so a family of five pays the same as one traveller. The "from" figure in the table is live: it is the lowest price among the cars currently offered on that route, and the cars themselves show their own price, seats, luggage space and whether a child seat can be requested.
You send a request for a date and time; it costs nothing, and nothing is paid online. On the booking step you see whether payment goes to the driver or to the local provider, who then confirms your trip. You can give a flight number so that the driver knows your arrival. Some routes on the table have no cars yet; for those the page offers a WhatsApp box where you write your date, passengers and luggage, and we tell you whether a driver can take it.
What a long-distance transfer involves: checkpoints, passports and visas
Police and military checkpoints are normal on the Sinai highways, particularly between towns, and they can add time to a drive that route software shows as shorter. The reference figures in our tables come from OpenStreetMap routing (OSRM, October 2026) with empty roads, so real journeys are usually longer. Keep your passport in your hand luggage, because officers may ask for it.
On entry, UK government advice (FCDO, August 2026) describes a free stamp for arrivals by air at Sharm who stay under 15 days at resorts in Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba or Taba. Cairo, Giza and Hurghada lie outside that area, so for those routes a visa is needed. It can be obtained at Sharm airport or online. Sources differ on the stamp's exact length and on which nationalities qualify (checked October 2026 — check before you travel).
When a bus or a self-drive car makes more sense
A driver is not always the best answer. Coaches run between Sharm and Cairo (Go Bus, Blue Bus, Super Jet and East Delta are named in a 2026 travel guide), and East Delta is listed among the options for Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba. We could not verify bus times or fares, so check each operator's app. For Saint Catherine, public buses are unreliable, which is why it is usually done by car or tour.
If you want to set your own pace, our site also offers self-drive rental. UK advice says you need a UK licence plus the 1949-type international driving permit, which must be obtained before travelling. The same advice warns against driving outside main cities and resorts at night. Choose a bus if cost and flexibility matter more than comfort; choose a private driver for luggage, children, a tight flight time or a long road.
The way back: how a return trip is booked
A return is a separate route with its own page, such as Cairo to Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab to the Sharm airport or Hurghada to Sharm El Sheikh. You can book the two directions one after the other. When the car you choose also has a price for the way back, the booking step lets you add it there, with the date and time of the second trip.
If the return starts from a hotel and ends at the airport, remember to leave a safe margin before the flight, in particular on Nuweiba, Taba, Cairo and Hurghada routes, where checkpoints and long distances make drive times less predictable. Hurghada and Saint Catherine routes are the ones where a message first is most useful, so we can check whether a driver is available for your day.
Transfer terms: name sign, waiting, night price, cancellation
These are the standard terms of our transfer partners (November 2026). The company confirms the details for your trip when it accepts the request.
Name sign: on request, the driver meets you with a sign showing your name. Ask for it when you book.
Free waiting: up to 30 minutes.
Night price: the same as the day price, with no night surcharge.
Cancellation: free. Nothing is paid in advance, so just tell the company at least 24 hours before the pickup time.
