Taba to Sharm El Sheikh Airport by private car with driver

Taba sits on the Gulf of Aqaba right beside the border crossing to Eilat in Israel. Sharm El Sheikh airport (SSH) lies about 210–230 km to the south, reached through Nuweiba and Dahab, which makes this one of the longer transfers you can book here. Two kinds of traveller usually take it: people who have just crossed from Eilat and are heading for a flight out of Sharm, and guests at the Taba resorts who are flying home. You choose the exact car from its own photo, and a local provider supplies it with a driver for the whole journey. The price belongs to the vehicle, not to each head on board. Requesting is free, nothing is paid online, and the booking step shows whether you pay the driver or the provider. The provider's travel time for this route is shown above; with a flight to catch, allow plenty of time before check-in.

Down the Gulf of Aqaba coast from Taba

From Taba the road runs south along the Gulf of Aqaba side of Sinai to Nuweiba, carries on to Dahab and then follows the main highway into Sharm El Sheikh. Altogether it is about 210–230 km, and you pass both Nuweiba and Dahab on the way.

Police and military checkpoints are a normal part of the South Sinai highways, and officers can ask for your passport and visa. Having just come through the border, keep your passport handy in the cabin: a check goes more smoothly when nobody has to dig through the boot for it.

Booking a pickup at the border or a Taba hotel

Write your pickup point in the request: the Taba border crossing or the name of your hotel. The local provider confirms the request and the pickup. We do not confirm the crossing's opening hours, so check them yourself, and remember that nobody can predict how long your own border formalities will take. Pick a pickup time with room to spare and mention that you are coming through from Eilat.

The car you see is the car you get: each listing has its own photo and seat count, with the driver included and a single price for the whole vehicle. There is no online payment; the booking step shows whether you pay the driver or the local provider. Add your flight number so the provider can plan the pickup around your departure, and check each car for whether a child seat can be provided on request.

Planning the drive around your flight

With a border at one end and a flight at the other, leave generous margins. Take the travel time the provider set, shown above, add plenty of time before check-in, and if your flight leaves early in the day, consider whether a night in Sharm beforehand would be more relaxed than a same-day run from the border.

Think about your visa beyond Sinai as well. The free Sinai-only stamp covers the Sharm, Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba resorts for eligible nationalities, but not Cairo or mainland Egypt, which need a full visa. The type of entry you receive at Taba is a matter between you and the border authorities, so check the official travel advice for your nationality before you cross.
