Sharm El Sheikh transport prices 2026
Sharm El Sheikh transport prices depend on whether you travel with a driver or drive yourself, and on how many people and bags you bring. At the top of this page are three blocks with live prices, computed on the server from today's real inventory: airport transfers to the Sharm areas and nearby towns, a car with driver by the hour, and self-drive rental with a "from" price per day for each car class. Below we explain how to read each block, what the prices include and exclude, and gather the things that really move a trip budget: street taxis, ride apps, fuel, the visa and buses. We never write a Charm Rental price in the text, because every number in the blocks is current at the moment you open the page.
Sharm El Sheikh airport (SSH) to your area: current prices
Lowest current price per vehicle for a pre-booked private transfer with driver, from live offers on Charm Rental. Travel time is the provider's own estimate. The exact price for your car and date appears in the search before you send a request.
Prices updated November 1, 2026
Car with driver by the hour
Cheapest current price per vehicle for each bookable duration, driver included.
Self-drive rental: price per day by car class
Lowest current price per day for each class, from real listed cars.

How to read the three price blocks
The first block is the table of transfers from Sharm El Sheikh airport (SSH). Each row is one destination: a Sharm area or another town. We show the lowest pre-booked price for one vehicle and an approximate travel time. The price is for the whole car, not per person, so with four passengers you do not divide by four, you simply pay for the vehicle.
The second block is a car with driver by the hour. For each duration it shows the lowest current price. It suits a day when you want to see several places without arranging a separate transfer each way. The full description is on the car with driver page.
The third block is self-drive rental: for each car class you see a "from" price per day, meaning the lowest offer in that class. The final price depends on the car and your dates, so the exact figure appears only on the car's own page after you enter dates.
All numbers are computed on the server from the real offers of local companies. If something changes, the table changes; this text stays correct.
What the prices include and exclude
For transfers and for a car with driver by the hour the price is per vehicle and includes the driver. You do not pay per passenger or extra for luggage. Details such as an extra stop, how long the driver waits after landing, or a child seat are best confirmed in your request. On the booking step you can add your flight number; the rest is agreed in the reply.
For self-drive rental the "from" price is the daily rate for the car. The deposit is a separate item: it is set by the company that owns the car and shown on the car's page before you send a request. According to our local partner companies in Sharm (October 2026) it is typically 300 to 500 US dollars or euros depending on the car, and for an expensive car it can be about 1,000. Some companies accept your passport left with them for the rental period instead of a cash deposit; then there is no deposit, so ask in your request.
To compare renting with a transfer, see the page on car rental prices in Sharm El Sheikh and the airport transfer page.
Street taxis and ride apps: indicative fares
Street taxis in Sharm have no meter and no official fare board, so you agree the price before getting in. Published guides quote very different figures. We checked them on 15 October 2026: a 2025 guide mentions 50 to 100 EGP for the ride from the airport to Naama Bay in a local taxi, an Italian tour operator's February 2026 text gives 100 to 150 EGP for a short taxi or app ride, and another page lists 200 EGP from the airport to Naama Bay. These are unofficial figures, and tourists are often quoted more than locals, so treat them as a guide and check before you travel.
According to our local partner companies in Sharm (October 2026), Careem and inDrive work in Sharm El Sheikh. Uber does not work in Sharm or elsewhere in Sinai; it operates only in mainland Egyptian cities, and Uber's own site has no Sharm El Sheikh city page. With inDrive you offer your own fare and pay cash. Driver availability, especially at the airport and late at night, can vary.
For the local minibuses there are no officially confirmed routes or fares. A February 2026 guide mentions 10 to 20 EGP for a short ride, but that is only indicative.
Fuel prices in Egypt
If you rent a car yourself, fuel is a separate cost. Fuel prices in Egypt are set by the state. Under the official Ministry of Petroleum decision in force since 10 March 2026, and still in force on 9 October 2026, a litre of 95-octane petrol costs 24.00 EGP, 92-octane costs 22.25 EGP, 80-octane costs 20.75 EGP and diesel costs 20.50 EGP.
Prices can change at any time, so check before you go. To estimate your spend, multiply the litres by the price per litre: ten litres of 92-octane cost 222.50 EGP at these rates. Check on the car's page which fuel the model uses and, if in doubt, ask the company.
The rental's fuel policy, meaning whether you return the car with a full tank, is a separate point worth clarifying before pickup.
The visa and other costs that affect your budget
Count the visa before you fly. According to the UK Foreign Office (FCDO), a visa on arrival at the airport costs 30 US dollars, paid in cash at the kiosks before immigration; it also warns against buying a visa from agents, who often charge more. We checked this on 15 October 2026, but entry rules change, so check before you travel. For the Sinai stamp see our guide to entry rules and the Sinai visa.
Keep some cash in dollars or euros for first expenses, and remember the rental deposit if the company asks for one: it is refundable, but it ties up part of your budget during the rental.
Buses: why we do not quote fares
Long-distance buses leave Sharm, including East Delta, Go Bus and Super Jet; Super Jet's site shows a Rowaysat stop. We did not find reliable, current fares, and the available sources disagree, including on the journey time to Cairo. So we do not give any bus amount here. Check the price in the operator's app or at the station.
