Sharm El Sheikh airport taxi prices by area
How much is a taxi from Sharm El Sheikh airport to your hotel? There is no single hotel fare in the official notice: it publishes a meter tariff of EGP 29 plus EGP 14 per kilometre, dated 10 March 2026. The table below shows a different product: live pre-booked private-transfer offers per vehicle. Choose your area to compare the actual offers.

Sharm El Sheikh airport (SSH) to your area: current prices

How to read the table
Each row is a route from the airport (SSH) to an area of Sharm El Sheikh. The price is per vehicle, driver included, not per passenger. It is the lowest price currently available for that route, so a larger car or a different provider may cost more. The travel time is the provider's own estimate for that route.
Where no live price is published for an area, the row says price on request. That means the route can still be requested, but the price has to be confirmed. The table is a guide to what pre-booked transfers cost today, not a tariff for street taxis.
Distance and drive time from the airport
These are road estimates without traffic. Nabq is about 8 km, roughly 10 to 15 minutes. Sharks Bay is about 11 km, roughly 15 minutes. Montazah is about 13 km, roughly 15 to 20 minutes. Naama Bay is about 11 to 14 km, roughly 15 to 20 minutes.
The Old Market is about 20 km, roughly 20 to 25 minutes. Hadaba and Ras Um Sid are about 23 to 25 km, roughly 25 to 30 minutes. Real journeys can take longer with traffic, speed bumps and checkpoints, and the provider's time in the table may differ from these estimates.
Official tariff versus a quote at the airport
South Sinai Governorate published a tariff for metered taxis operating in Sharm El Sheikh on 10 March 2026: EGP 29 at the start of the ride and EGP 14 for each kilometre. We checked the official announcement on 20 October 2026; the source is linked below. It establishes a meter tariff, not a fixed fare from the airport to every hotel.
The announcement does not tell us whether a particular driver will use the meter or what any airport charges, waiting or extras will be. Ask how the fare will be calculated before boarding. If a driver offers a fixed amount, confirm the whole-car price, currency and included stops. Check for newer notices before travelling.
For a street taxi, ask about the meter and any extras first; if you accept a fixed quote, write down the total and currency. A negotiated quote should not be presented as the official tariff. Old blog prices are not a reliable quote for your arrival.
With an app such as inDrive, check the amount and pickup point in the app before accepting. Driver availability is not guaranteed. A private transfer is arranged in advance for your group. The table here shows published Charm Rental transfer offers per vehicle, with driver, rather than street-taxi fares. Compare a vehicle that fits your passengers and luggage, then send a request; wait for confirmation before treating the trip as booked.
What changes the price
Vehicle size matters: a sedan, a minivan and a larger van are priced differently, and luggage or an extra passenger can mean a bigger vehicle. For an arrival after midnight, give the exact arrival time and check that the request carries the right calendar date. Waiting time after a delayed flight, extra stops and a child seat are worth confirming in the request.
A return trip is priced separately from the arrival transfer, so do not assume that the one-way figure in the table covers both directions. If you need both, ask for both.
How to avoid overpaying
Agree the price and the currency before you get in a taxi, and confirm it is for the whole car, not per person. Keep small Egyptian notes for the payment, and pay at the end of the ride, not before. Older guides also advise noting the driver's ID number if it is shown.
If you prefer not to negotiate, a pre-booked transfer gives a price per vehicle that you can compare with the table before you travel. The UK Foreign Office also advises against travelling alone in a taxi at night and suggests sharing the driver and trip details with a friend.
How to book a transfer
Choose your area and vehicle, then send a request. The request is free and no online payment is taken. On the booking step you can add your flight number, which helps the provider plan the pickup. The price and conditions are shown to you before you confirm.
Charm Rental does not dispatch street taxis. It offers pre-booked private transfers and cars with a driver from local companies. For a child seat, choose a car that shows "Child seat on request" on its offer card and mention the child's age in the request. If you also need a specific meeting point or waiting time after a delayed flight, ask for it when you send the request so that it is confirmed in writing.
