Nubian Village Aqua Hotel and Nubian Island are two neighbouring hotels in Nabq Bay, each with its own website and reception. Our estimate from Sharm El Sheikh airport is about 13 km, roughly 16 minutes without traffic. The price per car is shown on the airport transfer page; the key step is to write in the request which of the two hotels you have booked.

Two hotels that share a bay, not one hotel

The official sites are separate: Nubian Village Hotel at nubian-village.com and Nubian Island Hotel at nubian-island.com. Both give the same address line, Nabq Bay, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, and both show their own telephone number and e-mail, so each has its own front desk. German Wikivoyage lists them as two entries: Nubian Village Aqua Hotel and Nubian Island, the second described as a hotel for couples and families only.

In OpenStreetMap the two grounds touch: the Village polygon and the Island polygon have centres only about 98 m apart in a straight line. That closeness is exactly why a car can be sent to the wrong one. Copy the name from your voucher exactly, for instance Nubian Island Hotel or Nubian Village Aqua Hotel, and do not write just Nubian. If the voucher is unclear, ask the tour operator or the hotel before you fly.

Distance: our figure, the hotel's figure and Wikivoyage

Our area estimate for both hotels is about 13 km, roughly 16 minutes without traffic, with a margin of about 2 km. The Nubian Island page states its own figure: "just a 10 minute drive away from Sharm El Sheikh Airport and 20 minutes from Naama Bay" (official site, checked 16 October 2026 — the site appears not to have been updated recently; check before you travel). The Nubian Village page gives no distance at all.

The figures do not match, and we do not hide that. Ten minutes is shorter than our 16. German Wikivoyage goes the other way and puts the airport about 7.5 km from the Nabq Bay resort area, which may describe a nearer end of the bay rather than these two hotels; the source does not say. Use our estimate for planning, and for the Naama Bay leg the hotel's 20 minutes is the only figure we have.

Arriving: where the car goes in

Neither official site describes a gate, a drive-in or a reception building. OpenStreetMap does draw some nodes near the Village: an entrance tagged main about 160 m from the centre of the Village grounds, a plain entrance about 120 m away and three barrier gates between 187 and 222 m. None of them carries a name or a street, so we cannot say which belongs to the Village, which to the Island, and which to a neighbouring hotel.

So do not trust a pin on a map to be the lobby. Before travel, ask your hotel's reception where drivers stop, and put that answer in the request together with the hotel name and your flight details.

Rooms, bungalows and the layout of the grounds

Nubian Village lists 291 guest rooms (official site, checked 16 October 2026 — the site appears not to have been updated recently; check before you travel): 173 standard rooms, 104 bungalows, 12 junior suites and 2 royal suites. German Wikivoyage gives 490 rooms for the Village. The two sources differ and we state neither as fact; it may be that a different counting basis is used, but the sources do not say.

Nubian Island lists 229 rooms: 68 standard, 56 family, 80 bungalows, 8 honeymoon bungalows, 12 executive suites, 4 presidential suites and one royal suite. For luggage the point is the bungalow share, 104 at the Village and 88 at the Island by the hotels' own lists: a large part of each property is garden bungalows, so the walk from reception to the room may be longer than in a single block. The Island page says its aqua park (3 adult and 3 children slides) and pharmacy are located in the Island hotel, so the Village's guests may cross to the sister hotel for them; ask on arrival.

Check-in, check-out and the airport shuttle

Both sites give check-in at 2:00 p.m. and check-out at 12:00 noon (official site, checked 16 October 2026 — the site appears not to have been updated recently; check before you travel). Nubian Island adds that late check-out and day use are possible according to availability, that prices and availability should be checked with reception the night before departure, and that guests should bring their room key and towel cards to reception on departure day.

Neither official site mentions an airport shuttle, so there is nothing stated to compare with. For the return trip, set the pickup time as your airline advises; if you want a late check-out, ask Island reception the evening before, not at the door. Village guests: the Village page says nothing on late check-out.

The neighbours and the road to Naama Bay

OpenStreetMap shows Cleopatra Luxury Resort about 190 m from the Village centre, Parrotel Beach Resort about 240 m and Sharm Grand Plaza about 430 m (straight lines, OSM coordinates), so the cluster is a row of large resorts and a car looking for "Nubian" may pass several gates. German Wikivoyage notes that Nabq Bay is linked to the Peace Road and that shuttle buses run to Naama Bay; otherwise guests depend on taxis. The Island's own figure for Naama Bay is 20 minutes.
