Sharm El Sheikh Airport to Mövenpick Naama Bay: Transfer

Mövenpick Resort Sharm El Sheikh Naama Bay stands on the eastern edge of Naama Bay, about 13 km from the airport, roughly 17 minutes without traffic (our estimate). The hotel's own pages quote a shorter figure, 11 km, and this page explains the difference, the former Sofitel name and the hotel's own shuttle. The price per car is shown on the airport transfer page.

Distance: our estimate and the hotel's own figure

We estimate about 13 km and roughly 17 minutes without traffic from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport to the resort, with a margin of about 2 km either way. The hotel describes itself differently: its Accor listing says "Just 11 km from Sharm El Sheikh Airport" and a drive of 10 to 15 minutes, and the location page on the Mövenpick site says the resort is "only ten minutes from the airport and city centre" (checked 16 October 2026). The two numbers differ by about 2 km, which is the margin of our area model.

For planning, take the longer number: leave room for about 17 minutes of driving plus the time it takes to reach the car park from the terminal. The same Mövenpick page lists Naama Bay at 0.5 km, Hollywood at 2.2 km, the Old Market at 10 km and SOHO Square at 12 km. These are the hotel's own distances, so use them as a rough guide only.

The exact name: Mövenpick, Sofitel and look-alikes

The hotel is listed as Mövenpick Sharm El Sheikh on the official Accor page and as Mövenpick Resort Sharm el Sheikh in OpenStreetMap. Until its change of brand it operated as Sofitel Sharm El Sheikh, and Wikivoyage still notes the old name; the riding centre on the grounds was once called Sofitel Equestrian and is now Mövenpick Equestrian. The Accor page itself does not mention Sofitel, so older maps and notes may still show that name.

In your request write Mövenpick Resort Sharm El Sheikh Naama Bay exactly as it appears on your voucher. The strip has several neighbours with similar-sounding names: OpenStreetMap shows Fantasia about 400 m to the west and Sonesta Beach about 450 m to the north-west (straight-line, OSM coordinates), and Jaz Fayrouz, formerly Hilton Fayrouz, sits about 1 km further west on Peace Road. Each is a separate hotel with its own entrance.

The hotel's own airport shuttle

The Mövenpick location page states: "We are offering a shuttle bus service from and to Sharm El Sheikh International Airport. This service needs to be booked in advance," and flight details are asked for at booking (checked 16 October 2026; check before you travel). The page does not state a fee, so we cannot tell you whether it is included or charged, and the Accor listing simply names a shuttle among the on-site services without conditions.

A private car arranged through us is a different arrangement: it is a car booked for your party rather than a seat on the hotel's bus. The price per car is shown on the airport transfer page, you add your flight number and the number of passengers in the request, and the choice between the two depends on how you travel. If you want the hotel's bus, ask the hotel directly.

Arriving at the resort

The official pages give the address as Naama Bay, 46619, South Sinai, and the map link on the Mövenpick site uses coordinates 27.913761, 34.340279; OpenStreetMap places the resort at about 27.9136, 34.3399. Neither source describes an entrance, a gate or a reception drop-off, and we found no entrance that OpenStreetMap ties to this hotel. We therefore do not say which side the car arrives on. Ask the reception which entrance suits your room and add it to your request.

The grounds are wide: the Accor page speaks of five private beaches with direct sea access, and the resort has pools, tennis courts, a spa, a kids club and a dive centre (Scorpion Dive on Wikivoyage's listing). Free parking for guests is stated on the official site. If your room is in one of the four private villas, mention that to the hotel before you fly.

Rooms and facilities that matter on arrival

The Accor page describes 298 sea-view and partial sea-view rooms with terraces, 40 connecting rooms and 4 private villas; Wikivoyage lists 302 rooms in total, which matches. Connecting rooms are useful for families travelling with several suitcases, and you can say in the request how many people and how many bags there are. The car card shows "Child seat on request"; mention the child's age in the request rather than assuming a seat is available.

Facilities named on the official pages also include water sports, an equestrian centre and meeting rooms. The hotel is a five-star resort in our data. We found no statement about internal golf carts or a shuttle between the beaches, so ask at check-in.

Check-in, check-out and the return to the airport

The Accor listing gives check-in from 14:00 and check-out until 12:00 (checked 16 October 2026). Late check-out is not described on the pages we read, so ask the hotel if your flight is in the evening. For the return, set the pick-up time as your airline advises, allow for the 10 to 15 minutes the hotel itself quotes, and give the reception the exact time the day before.

Transfer terms: name sign, waiting, night price, cancellation

These are the standard terms of our transfer partners (November 2026). The company confirms the details for your trip when it accepts the request.

Name sign: on request, the driver meets you with a sign showing your name. Ask for it when you book.

Free waiting: up to 30 minutes.

Night price: the same as the day price, with no night surcharge.

Cancellation: free. Nothing is paid in advance, so just tell the company at least 24 hours before the pickup time.
