Sharm Airport to DoubleTree by Hilton (ex Sharks Bay): Transfer
DoubleTree by Hilton Sharm El Sheikh – Sharm Bay is the hotel many travellers still search for as Hilton Sharks Bay or DoubleTree Sharks Bay: one property, three names. It sits in the SOHO Square / White Knight cluster, about 6 km from the airport, roughly 9 minutes without traffic (our estimate), while Hilton's own listing gives about 11 km. The price per car is shown on the airport transfer page.

One hotel, three names
Hilton's current listing calls the hotel DoubleTree by Hilton Sharm El Sheikh – Sharm Bay. An earlier Hilton page for the same address was titled DoubleTree by Hilton Sharm El Sheikh – Sharks Bay Resort, OpenStreetMap still carries that name, and Wikivoyage lists the hotel as DoubleTree by Hilton Sharm El Sheikh – Sharm Bay with the note "Hilton Sharks Bay" (Hilton listing, checked 16 October 2026 — check before you travel). Before the DoubleTree flag it was a Hilton-branded resort, and a separate old Hilton page still exists with its own conditions, so do not mix the two when you read an old listing.
In your request write the name from your voucher and add "formerly Hilton Sharks Bay" if the voucher uses the old wording. A driver or dispatcher who searches for just "Hilton" in Sharm can easily land on another hotel, as the next section shows.
Do not confuse it with Jaz Fayrouz
The best-known mix-up is with Jaz Fayrouz Resort. It was Hilton Sharm El Sheikh Fayrouz Resort until the rebrand, and Wikivoyage still notes the former Hilton name. Jaz Fayrouz is on Peace Road in Naama Bay, a 4-star resort with 211 rooms, in a different part of town from the DoubleTree at Sharks Bay. By the coordinates on Wikivoyage the two are about 9 km apart in a straight line.
Both were Hilton hotels, so older articles, maps and booking notes speak of "the Hilton in Sharm" for either one. If your voucher says DoubleTree, Sharm Bay or Sharks Bay, the destination is the SOHO / White Knight hotel described here; if it says Fayrouz, it is a Naama Bay hotel and needs a different request.
Distance: our estimate and Hilton's listing
Our estimate from the airport is about 6 km and roughly 9 minutes without traffic, within a margin of about 2 km. Hilton's own listing says about 11 km and describes the hotel as about 10 minutes from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport (Hilton listing, checked 16 October 2026 — check before you travel). That is a real difference of about 5 km, and we do not know which road the 11 km follows. Plan by the longer figure and treat our 6 km as the best case.
The hotel's address on Wikivoyage is Ra's Nasrani, Sharks Bay, and OpenStreetMap gives the address street as Ras Nusrani with postcode 46628. The straight-line distance to the terminal is small, but the road loops, so the map pin alone does not tell you the driving time.
The surrounding hotels
The DoubleTree sits among several large resorts. In OpenStreetMap, Meraki Resort is about 100 m to the east, Concorde El Salam Front area about 120 m to the west, Sunrise White Hills about 230 m east, Sunrise Island View about 350 m to the south-west and Siva Sharm about 370 m east; the Savoy and Royal Savoy are about 460 to 560 m to the west (straight-line, OSM coordinates).
This matters on arrival: with so many entrances close together, a pin that is a hundred metres off can put the car at the neighbour's barrier. The sources we use (Wikivoyage, OpenStreetMap, Hilton's listing) do not describe this hotel's entrance or reception, and the gates OpenStreetMap shows on the road to the north are not tagged to any hotel. Ask the reception which gate to use and write it in your request.
No hotel shuttle on the Hilton listing
Hilton's listing shows the Sharm El Sheikh airport shuttle as not available for this hotel, on both the amenities page and the location page of the older Sharks Bay entry (Hilton listing, checked 16 October 2026 — check before you travel). That is the hotel's own statement and may change, so confirm with the hotel before you fly. Where no hotel shuttle exists, a car booked in advance is the usual way to arrive: the price per car is shown on the airport transfer page, and you give your flight number and passengers in the request.
Free parking is listed, as are connecting rooms and cribs, which helps families who arrive with several suitcases and a pushchair. The car card shows "Child seat on request"; give the child's age in the request instead of assuming a seat is available.
Facilities, check-in and the return trip
Wikivoyage lists three restaurants, several bars, a pool, a fitness centre, a tennis court, a private beach and the Sinai Dive Club, with free Wi-Fi and no pets allowed; Hilton's listing adds an outdoor pool, beach access and kids' menus. We do not state a room count because sources disagree. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is at 12:00 (Wikivoyage and Hilton's listing, checked 16 October 2026). Late check-out is not described, so ask if your flight is in the evening.
For the return, set the pick-up time as your airline advises, allow for the longer 11 km figure rather than 6 km, and tell the reception the time the day before.
