CHARM RENTAL · Sharm El Sheikh
BMW car hire in Sharm El Sheikh
BMW covers two shapes in Egypt: the sedan line, from the 320i up to the 740i, and a ladder of X models from the compact X1 to the seven-seat X7. Pick by shape first and by badge second. A pair on a beach holiday and a group heading for Dahab with dive bags are not choosing between the same cars. The BMW cars listed in Sharm right now are above; the guidance below helps you decide which one deserves your request.

Two shapes, nine models
According to BMW Egypt's own model pages and brochures, the catalog here includes the 320i, 520i and 740i sedans, and the X1, X2, X3, X5, X6 and X7 SUVs. The distributor also lists electric siblings of some of them (iX1, iX2, i7), so the badge on a listing matters.
A short mental map helps: the smaller the number, the smaller the car. X1 and X2 suit town driving, X3 and X5 add space, X6 trades some rear headroom for a sloping roof, and X7 is the one built around more rows of seats.
Choosing by group size and luggage
Two or three guests staying around Naama Bay are well served by a 3 or 5 Series sedan or an X1. A family of four with a child seat should look at the X3 or X5, where the load area is easier to use. For five or more, the X7 and its extra row are the BMW answer, though the seats you actually have depend on the exact version in the listing.
Be realistic about bags. A sedan boot swallows suitcases but not tall dive crates, and the sloping X6 roof can cost loading height. Count what you carry before you count the seats.
Do you want to drive it?
Self-drive suits you if you enjoy the road: the highway north to Dahab and the mountain route to Saint Catherine reward a well-balanced car, as long as you drive in daylight and expect checkpoints. Bring your passport at all times.
If you would rather arrive rested, a larger BMW with a driver turns the car into a private transfer vehicle. The listing tells you whether it is self-drive or driver-led, and the price is for the whole vehicle either way.
Listing checklist for a BMW
Match the model year to the dashboard photos, because the cabin changes a lot between generations. Confirm automatic transmission, air conditioning, seats, boot space, mileage allowance and the deposit. On self-drive, expect to show your national licence, an international permit and a credit card for the deposit in the driver's name; premium cars sometimes ask for a higher minimum age or years behind the wheel.
Do not assume four-wheel drive from the X in the name, and do not treat an SUV as permission to leave the paved road.
If the BMW you want is not free
The Audi A6 and Q7, the Mercedes E-Class and GLE, the Volvo XC60 and XC90 all sit in the same bracket. For a more modest everyday sedan the Toyota Camry is in the catalog.
BMW models sold in Egypt
What the Egyptian distributor lists for each model, from the manufacturer’s local pages. The car you rent may be a different year or version: its own listing decides.
BMW 320i · Sedan
BMW’s Egyptian 3 Series brochure distinguishes the 320i Advantage trim and its cockpit equipment. Older 320i rentals may have a different interior; compare the year and actual dashboard photos. Compare the rear-seat space and boot access with your group and luggage. Gearbox, equipment and deposit depend on the listed car and its year.

BMW 520i · Sedan
BMW Egypt’s G60 page identifies the 520i as a petrol 5 Series Sedan. For a Sharm–Dahab drive, establish whether the listing is G60 or an earlier generation.
BMW X1 · SUV
BMW Egypt’s U11 X1 page presents an urban SUV with a curved digital cockpit. At Sharm handover, familiarise yourself with its controls and distinguish X1 from electric iX1.
BMW X3 · SUV
BMW Egypt’s G45 X3 page emphasises a flexible luggage compartment. For Dahab sports bags, compare the actual load area and model year with the smaller X1.
BMW X5 · SUV
BMW Egypt presents the G05 X5 and its xDrive40i petrol version. For a Sharm hotel stay, compare this SUV’s parking footprint and luggage access with X3.
BMW X2 · SUV
BMW Egypt’s U10 X2 page describes a coupé-shaped SUV and distinguishes the electric iX2. For Sharm hotel stays, compare rear headroom and suitcase loading with X1, then confirm the offered generation and powertrain.
BMW X6 · SUV
BMW Egypt’s X6 page covers the G06 generation. For a Sharm airport arrival, compare the actual rear roof shape and luggage opening with X5 before choosing the sportier body; an older X6 must be assessed using its own cabin photographs.
BMW X7 · SUV
BMW Egypt describes second- and third-row seating for X7 M60i. For a family journey to Dahab, confirm the exact X7 version and usable passenger places, then check luggage with the last row occupied rather than applying the M60i description to every listing.
BMW 740i · Sedan
BMW Egypt lists 740i within the G70 7 Series sedan range alongside the separately named i7. For a chauffeured Sharm stay, confirm the full badge and rear-seat arrangement; compare its sedan luggage access with X7 when your group brings large bags.
